The Opposition leader has hit back at the slander surrounding his vast personal wealth this week after investigations by lesser mastheads revealed a litany of rather odd transactions made over the past 15 years.

Despite not trading shares much at all, Peter Dutton has admitted to making a series of share transactions during the Rudd Government’s response to the Global Financial Crisis. While the bailout package for our banks ultimately didn’t pass the senate, that did not stop Mr Dutton from buying and selling shares in that time. In that time, he was serving in the shadow Treasury and was party to information that you and I are not privy to.

It’s kind of weird that he would do this and many sanctimonious shitebags on this disgraceful platform have jumped to conclusions. However, Mr Dutton has the opportunity now to explain how it all happened so we can rest assured that his fit to run for office.

We are still waiting for him to explain this to us.

Putting that to one side, Peter Dutton has bought and sold property like millions of other hardworking Australians. He has generated vast wealth through stringent planning, dedication and the kind of work ethic you only get in Queensland. He has seized opportunity and never sat down to sook that the world is against him.

Unfortunately, he is also a Member of Parliament which means he needs to be transparent about things because otherwise people might jump to conclusions that are not true. Because they don’t have all the information they need to form an accurate opinion.

Much of Peter Dutton’s real estate dealings, as detailed once again in lesser mastheads, have been transacted through various trusts and often declared late, if ever, to the Register of Parliamentary interests. That’s fine. Well, not really, but you know what I mean. Peter runs on Queensland time like many of us do out here. But you’d only do it that way to either minimise your tax or hide it from people who might think less of you for being a detached elite despite saying you’re not actually one of them.

The Liberals say their Members own less homes than Labor. It’s largely because people from Labor are rather unsophisticated people who just buy things in their own name like some sort of moron. The Liberals know the tricks, so it appears like they own less themselves. Which is true. Peter the man is no richer than a good surgeon on paper but his true wealth is totally unknown because he refuses to tell us or show us anything. That is very weird.

But when you are seeking the second highest office in the land, after Test captain, doing things like this is very weird and when you refuse to talk about them, it makes it even weirder.

It makes it look like you really do have something to fear and something to hide.

More to come.
