Drunk Man Receives Unabridged History Of Pakistan After Asking Uber Driver His Thoughts On Imran Khan

A drunk man with a surface level knowledge of Pakistan's history has just received a half hour Ted talk on Pakistani political history after simply asking his Pakistani Uber driver his opinions on former leader Imran Khan.

The former cricketing legend who got into politics on an anti-corruption ticket, led anti-government protests, took power, fell out with the military, got locked up and is now in critical condition in jail with scarce access to outside treatment, has been a polarising figure for not only Pakistani's but most South Asians in the region.

According to witnesses, the passenger made the critical mistake of asking, "So what do you reckon about Imran Khan?" approximately four minutes into his journey home.

"Brother, to understand Imran Khan, first you must understand Pakistan" replied the driver, immediately lowering the music.

What followed was a comprehensive overview of military rule, corruption, American foreign policy, cricket, the Pakistani secret service and military influence in Pakistani democracy.

"Right, right, yeah nah, that's fucked" the passenger reportedly responded periodically, desperately trying to catch enough information to ask a follow up question.

By the time the Uber reached his house, the conversation had moved through approximately 50 years of political history and somehow arrived at the partition of India.

The passenger, who had originally planned to spend the journey scrolling Instagram, reportedly emerged from the Toyota Camry with a substantially improved understanding of Pakistani civil-military relations.

He also gave the driver five stars.

"Great bloke" he said.

"But also an incredible storyteller"

"He had me glued the entire way, from the Gandhara Period through to British Colonial rule, and now the modern civllian governments"
