Crowds Across Sydney Wait 4 Hours In Line To Be Completely Sober By The Time They Lose $400

Crowds across Sydney have lost hours of their life queuing for their pub of choice today.

Anzac Day in Sydney has long been established as one of the biggest days of the year, with massive lines beginning to form outside venues as early as 8am.

Wait times can quickly reach up to four hours.

Once inside, however, commemorators remember the bravery shown by Australian soldiers by betting their weekly paycheck on games of two-up, which is illegal every other day of the year.

Yet Sydney-siders are apparently already ‘losing their buzz’ by the time they enter.

The Advocate caught up with Kane Smalley, a 21 year old student who says at times, the line felt “never-ending”.

“I wouldn't have pregamed if I knew it'd be like this,” he said.

“And the fucked thing, too, is that once we got in, the vibe was pretty shit. I don't know if it’s just cause I was sober, but everyone was just being that annoying,”

“Looks like I’m stuck here, though. With ANZAC day you’ve kind of gotta pick your pub early and just stick with it. Fucked if I’ll be waiting another four hours,”

“Plus I already lost 400 bucks on two up, so, there’s that.”

His mate Theo says Kane is the one that promised the wait would be worth it.

“Lying piece of shit,” he said.

Theo is also reported to have lost $400 on the game of chance.

More to come.
