Local full time financial analyst and part-time 'outdoorsman' Andy Thompson has today officially entered OOO, following a grueling 90 minute drive from our pebblecrete paradise of Betoota Heights.
Arriving at the Lower Diamantina River campsite in his 4WD getting a rare taste of some organic non GMO dirt, Andy has wasted no time getting himself, and his mates into the mood.
Within forty-five seconds of killing the engine, and before even considering where the tent pegs might go, Andy fired up the speaker, to get the good times rolling.
Well the wood times actually, because they are in the bush, around heaps of trees, get it?
The silence of the outback was promptly replaced by the dulcet tones of Bobby Doggins’ and his "The Wood Life.”
"It’s about the vibe, mate," Andy told our reporters while opening a nice, still moderately chilled Woody and loading some the next country tune up.
"You get out here and you realise that 'The Wood Life' is a simple life. It’s a simple life without the bullshit, the expectation, and the pretense of the city," he said, quickly checking a notification from his phone.
"It's like as soon as I hit that ramp where city roads turn to motorway, I let out a big exhale and the world just becomes a better place."
"Cause I'm free of the rat race."
“I don’t need a house in Beverly Hills, certainly not the Aussie one haha.”
"Sitting out here in a camp chair, with a couple of Woodies, couple of mates, that's where the magic is. No expectations. Just us, the birds, the bees and whatever the keeps keeps biting me."
With his mates setting up site and throwing barbs his way, big Andy asked to terminate the interview and get busy setting up.
More to come.
