Chooks Fan’s Passion Stops At Needing To Travel Past Anzac Bridge For Finals

A delicious cheeseboard is being arranged in the kitchen of a Sydney Roosters fan this afternoon as an Easter suburbs man prepares for finals footy.

With his beloved “Easts” playing in a match up against the Penny Panthers at 4pm today, it’s believed Hugo Robinson-White is absolutely no chance of putting on his Rooster scarf and leaving his four bedroom home in Bellevue Hill to go out to Parramatta and support his team.

As a fly-in fly-out Roosters supporter, Hugo is one of thousands of Chooks fan who only attends games if one of his mates has access to a corporate box at Sydney Football Sydney, or the game falls on a weekend when he’s not in Bowral, or Europe.

Speaking to the hedge fund manager, this afternoon's finals schedule involves a few fellow Eastern suburbs chums and a nice bottle of Grange.

“Commbank? I’d rather have drawn the Wahs game and have to travel to New Zealand. At least I could of zipped down to Queenstown afterwards for a spot of late season skiing at The Remarkables.”

“I’ve heard the stadium doesn’t even have duck pancakes out there. If it’s not Merivale on the menu why would I bother charging up my Polestar for the trip?”

It’s just another classic case of flip-floppy support from a Chooks supporter, who only backs his side when it conveniences him, and an Uber to the game is under $20.

“My Swannies aren’t on this weekend either, so I’ve invited a few friends over for a dinner party. I doubt I’ll even watch the game to be honest, those Panthers players are so rough.”

“Did you see what Lattrell did to my new halfback last weekend, I simply can’t fathom watching that in real life.”
