Chemist Warehouse Security Now Equipped With Attack Dogs And Trip Wires

Chemist Warehouse's notoriously strong security presence is set for a revamp over the coming months.

Despite many customers reporting Chemists Warehouse;'s rotating roster of 2-3 security guards at every location a bit much, the Chemist chain claims there is no such thing as too much safety and theft prevention.

"We believe customers will eventually find comfort in the attack dogs scanning the store for drug users trying to steal precursor chemicals to illicit substances," said an un named spokesperson for the company.

The overhaul will reportedly include pressure sensitive trip wires in the vitamin aisle, facial recognition cameras capable of identifying anyone who looks like they're about to pocket a box of Sudafed, and a former SAS operator quietly browsing the sunscreen section.

Customers say that while the security upgrade is intimating, it's expected.

"Going to Chemist Warehouse has been a daunting experience for years now," said one bewildered shopper.

"I've been asked if I need assistance by four staff members, nodded at three security guards and made eye contact with what I think was a tactical sniper near the blood pressure monitors."

Employees insist the measures are purely precautionary, noting the overwhelming majority of customers have absolutely no intention of stealing anything.

The company has confirmed stage two of the rollout will see every Chemist Warehouse fitted with pure breed German Shepard attack dogs and trip wires that can be activated for suspicious customers.
