A local Betoota man has established himself as the richest person in the friend group after ordering hot chips for the table to share.
24 year old Tom Richardson was at a bar in Betoota’s French Quarter with a group of mates when he decided to take one for the team and make sure everyone was fed.
“It’s nothing really, I was just a bit hungry and it’d be rude not to share with the group,” Tom told our reporter.
“I even spent a $1 more on aioli."
Tom’s friendship group of young professionals were at the point in their careers where they had enough money to do rounds but not enough to buy a bowl of chips. But not for moneybags Tom who was fine spending a steep $12 on the snack.
The group who were a couple rounds down were elated when they saw the waiter come over and place the chips in the middle of the table. Tom’s friend, Lola Barnes couldn’t believe her eyes.
“Tom’s a real one you know and he’s fucking rich clearly.”
Tom took pride in watching his mates nibble up his chips like a mother watching her children eat the dinner she’s prepared.
Unfortunately for Tom’s housemates who joined the bar trip, Tom got pretty quiet when it came to splitting the $24 Uber home.
Tom’s housemate Jason was left read in the group chat for days after asking for the $8 bank transfer.
“Yeah he can buy a bowl of chips but he can’t pay an Uber,” Jason told our reporter.
“He’s never even fucken restocked the olive oil.”
