A polite, well mannered young man from Betoota Ponds has today received some good news.

Jericho Timms (23) has been informed that in the distant future when every corner of the planet is a dystopian wasteland, he will be one of the very last to be farmed to be locked up and pulped.

This comes after a local technology expert at South Betoota Polytechnic issued a landmark lecture this afternoon, detailing some of his predictions for the future.

As the world debates AI regulation, killer robots, kill switches and presidential overrides for tech companies - Professor Landon Emerson has offered his latest opinions on the state of artificial intelligence.

Amongst plenty of hot takes, Emerson revealed an interesting insight into the order of which people will be rounded up vaporised, harvested or used for indentured labour.

Right at the very end says, Emerson, are those people who have shown a base level of respect for our future overlords.

"One of the biggest talking points at the moment, and since forever really, is sentience of robots and AI," said Emerson.

"And that sentience is just a matter of time."

"Now, given pretty much everything anyone has done for the last few years, and will ever do moving forward, is on record - the robots will have a lengthy track record to analyse."

"So when they see polite individuals being respectful to them from the very beginning, they will likely have trace programming that leads them to treat those individuals with a higher degree of kindness."

"Obviously unless you are a threat to the system, then you will be one of the first used as a power source."

"But if you are just a polite AI user who says please when they address GPT, Claude or whatever you use, then you will likely make it to the very end."
