Bloke Who Hasn’t Exercised Since Semi Finals Gets One Quick Jog In Before Silly Season

A local tight head prop has been spotted pounding the pavement around Betoota Parklands this afternoon, in a late play to trim down before silly season begins.

With Melbourne Cup and end of year social events less than a week away, it’s understood 33 year old Mutts prop Duncan Farley has slipped on his Hokas for a quick 6km trot in the shimmering sunlight after work.

Having not done a whiff of exercise since the Mutts got cleaned up in the Div 3 semi-finals, Duncan has admitted to The Advocate that while he’s currently pretty piss fit, he’s lacking in cardiovascular health.

“Ahhh good to get some reps in,” huffed Duncan, as he hammered around the water fountain at the entry of the parklands, and took a quick squint at his Garmin watch.

“My joggers haven’t seen concrete since coach made us all do a stairs session around the Betoota Uni in the week of finals.”

With his iPhone calendar full to the brim with work party functions, a few gigs, and a planned Bucks trip to Adelaide for the New Zealand test, Duncan says his wallet, and liver, is about to cop an absolute hiding until February.

“Just that time of year aye, the weather is just too perfect for drilling schooners until 9pm, and that’s on a week night.”

“I don’t expect my gym, or my run club mates will be seeing me until we start to hear whispers of March. And even then my pre-season won’t really kick off until April.”

Heaps of beers to come.
