A recent study conducted by the Licensing Inquiries and Testing For Australian Management (LitFam) has revealed a stunning finding about alcohol consumption.
Lead researcher Woody Beer explained a widely hypothesised fact about a certain type of beer to The Advocate this morning.
Beer confirmed that the much lauded and mythologised 'Airport Beers' are a really really good idea in theory.
However, in reality, they are more than often overwhelmingly a let down.
"Yeah, we've compiled a 316 page report drawing on anecdotal accounts from over 2,000 individuals who enjoyed airport beers in a number of different settings," said Beer.
"Obviously excluding anyone who has a lounge access, because then you are essentially getting free beers and of course they taste good," he said.
"Well not free, but you know what I mean."
"But for those people paying straight up for an airport beer, most of the time they are a let down."
"Forking out 48 dollars for two pints of beer, that you often actually have to just drink really quickly anyway," he sighed.
"Really takes the sting out of the idea of enjoying a beer before a flight."
"Like so much in modern life, the idea, the mythology, the tantalising prospect of the ultimate dopamine hit is very hard to achieve."
"And chasing that idea turns into spending a lot of money and feeling underwhelmed and short changed."
"But hey, life is short and precious."
