As the Australian sporting world waits excitedly for the AFL's fairytale grand final - complete with a performance from Kylie Minogue - the NRL bosses are growing concerned that maybe they will massively overshadowed this year.

This has not been helped by the fact that the NRL's pre-game entertainment falling through, due to scheduling conflicts with the proposed artist 'Tones And I'.

Both the broadcasters and ticket holders are reportedly dissapointed as the NRL claims they don't need a pre-match performance, and will instead spend that money on grassroots programs for the kids.

While the AFL can look forward to either a Lions three-peat or a first ever Fremantle Dockers flag, the rugby league could very well be hosting a grand final between the same teams that always make it.

Short of a Newcastle Knights v Dolphins showdown, the chances are that the AFL will out-rate the NRL this year.

Unless... The NRL can organise a musical act that outshines the Queen Of Pop, Kylie Minogue.

The Betoota Advocate had previously endorsed the Sydney pop'n'lock dance troupe known as Justice Crew to fill the role of grand final pre-match entertainment, with the winners of the 2010 season 4 of Australia's Got Talent more than capable of taking to the stage and giving rugby league fans the boom boom.

However, it has since been revealed that the runner-up season 1 of Australian Idol, Shannon Noll has put his hand up.

Nollsie posted to Instagram today that he was "ready and willing" to get on the stage and belt out his greatest hits.

Not even a year after his acoustic pre-game show for the A-League in Newcastle, where he performed his greatest hits - followed by a grizzly rendition of "Never Tear Us Apart" - Nollsie has proven he can pull off such an event.

Not a bad shout at all.
