Against all odds, Sophie Hewitt broke free of the stranglehold her phone had over her – successfully limiting her screentime to less than an hour a week. That was until cricket season started.

What’s seen by many as the greatest sport to ever exist, a spectacular game of wits and strategy, is seen by Sophie as the sole reason she’s now completely addicted to her phone again.

“I was doing so well” she told The Advocate.

“Then the cricket started. There are so many days. And nights. It never ends.”

“And it’s so boring I can’t even follow what’s happening”

“So I get on my phone and start scrolling. And scrolling. And scrolling.”

“Now I can’t stop.”

The Advocate understands that Sophie’s screen time has increased 100%, and that her algorithm is so honed in that she’s convinced the only way to heal her newly self-diagnosed childhood trauma is to go on a $10,000 sound bath retreat in Byron Bay.

More to come.
