It’s has been confirmed this afternoon, that an old dangly car freshener is still trying to do it’s best.

It was revealed to The Advocate that the weary old air freshener, despite not putting much into the car’s airspace, is still attempting to mask the smell of years of cigarettes.

The owner of the car hosting the faded pine tree that’s weathered like an old matriarch at the Noosa Surf Club, explained that he probably should get a new one, but just hasn’t got round to it.

“Yeah, it probably is time to retire the faithful old pine tree,” explained the owner of the freshener and 2004 Corolla named Ben Hunter.

“One of those little things though isn’t it.”

“Like, cleaning the microwave, that you mean to do, but just never get round to it, and then all of a sudden a couple of Prime Ministers go by and you still haven’t done it.”

“Like giving up smoking as well I guess.”

Hunter then thanked our reporters for reminding him that the freshener that was now just a piece of cardboard hanging from the ceiling needed changing.

“I’ll do it next time I go to the servo,” he said.

“It’ll be a nice treat for the Rolly [Corolla].”
