Covid-19 has been a difficult time for University Students, especially for those who love nothing more than to assert their intellectual authority by attending classes in buildings made of antiquated sedimentary rock where it’s still cool to talk about your ATAR.
During this pandemic, Australian Uni students have proven themselves to be patient and able to turn in a last minute Pass Minus 2000-worder without attending a physical lecture.
For some students however, their patience is running thin for reason’s outside of academia.
Sydney Uni student Mary Stellenbosch (20) states she has remained quiet for long enough and now wants the recognition she deserves.
“As an ‘ally’ I didn’t even celebrate Invasion Day this year and I haven’t brought it up until now but I do so in the hope somebody else will,” said the young woman.
“But no one has. And it’s kind of left me feeling a bit short changed,” said the online activist, who posted a couple of strongly-worded statuses about the day.
According to Stellenbosch she is not asking for praise, just a firm pat on the back as if she was with the other activists marching on the 26th and not at home having only a couple of friends over.
“I know I did the right thing, but it would just be nice to actually hear it from someone.”
