As the nation comes to terms with the news that the iconic car brand Holden will close be closing down from 2021, social media giant Facebook has moved to soften the blow.

Facebook has announced that it’s introducing a special Holden themed filter for shared accounts in the wake of the news that General Motors will discontinue the brand.

The car company which has been an integral part of Australia’s motoring identity for decades has been bleeding consistently over the last few years, with job layoffs after job layoffs for the struggling manufacturer.

So as a result, Facebook will be offering the John N Jude’s of the country an opportunity to pay their respects to the popular brand.

“If they want to pay tribute to the majestic Commodore, or the lowly Barina, this filter is the one for them,” explained a spokesperson for Facebook.

Unfortunately, 600 employees will lose their jobs after in the next little while after successive Federal Governments have continually let the automotive industry (previously one of the country’s biggest) flail about rather than offer it the assistance it does to the coal industry in the form of tax concessions, ‘infrastructure grants’ and royalty holidays.
