Sydney’s expectant mothers are being urged to pop more Panadol, as residents of the harbour city continue to endure a notoriously unreliable train network.
This comes as 2024-2025 data shows the Sydney train network has had a record low performance, with approximately one in six services running late.
In between industrial action, defects in infrastructure and poor communication of maintenance breakdowns, many commuters have been left struggling to get to and from work as services are late, delayed or cancelled completely.
Weekend travellers have fared no better, with replacement buses replacing trains that often terminate halfway through their route with little to no warning.
However, with the Trump administration reporting they’ve found a direct link between the use of Panadol during pregnancy and an increased risk in autism, Sydneysiders are now encouraging expectant mums to pop some painkillers to ensure the future of railway reliability.
It’s estimated that with just a 10% increase in autistic people, New South Wales could soon rival Japan for high-speed rail innovation and safety.
More to come.
