Rumours Surface That Renowned Climber Alex Honnold Might Be Nathan Fiedler Doing An Elaborate Bit

In a rare and rather bizarre occurrence climbers and comics have come together, unified by the rumour that their respective heroes might actually be the same person. 

American climber Alex Honnold famous for his borderline unhealthy dedication to his craft and abrasive and awkward personality is rumoured to actually be Canadian comedian Nathan Fielder, who is known for his abrasive and awkward personality and borderline unhealthy dedication to his craft. 

The rumours are supported by the fact that Fielder is no stranger to these theatrical and elaborate performances. 

Fielder’s fans point to season 3 episode 8 where Fielder assumed the identity of another man by wearing a 3-D laser scanned version of the man's face.

He then trained for seven months to learn tight rope walking and proceeded to wire walk across two buildings in Downtown Los Angeles to turn the man he was disguised as into a hero. 

More recently Fielder went to new heights for his series ‘The Rehearsal’ by becoming a qualified pilot and receiving his 737 certification, for a bit. 

Naturally Fielder's history has prompted climbers and comics alike to believe that there is no ‘Alex Honnold’, just Nathan Fiedler in makeup. 

The pair, who have never been seen in the same room together, have suspiciously similar mannerisms, cadence, speech patterns. Also if you squint hard enough, they look like the same person.

Some are saying that it’s all one big coincidence but the rumours have gone wild especially in the climbing community as most climbers are predisposed to believe in conspiracy theories. 

Arts and culture expert Alexander Pretenshus says we should watch this space closely. 

“This has got Fiedler's name all over it, an elaborate disguise, public deception, mass spectacle. Until we see them in the same room together I’d say we can believe, for now, that Alex Honnold is Nathan Fielder.”
