QLD Government To Open Pop Up Subaru Lane From Brisbane To The Goldie For Laneway Festival

In a surprising move from Queensland premier David Cristafulli, the government has announced they’ll be opening up a special Subaru lane between Brisbane and the Gold Coast for the Laneway Festival next year.

This comes as Laneway has yet again knocked it out of the ballpark with their lineup, by choosing musicians beloved by the girls, gays, and theys, instead of the usual bloke heavy presence in every other festival.

Headlining the festival will be pop sensation and queer icon Chappell Roan, who will be joining a star studded lineup including Pink Pantheress, Wet Leg and Wolf Alive

Last year saw Charlie XCX perform exclusively at Laneway during the peak of her fame, having experienced a resurgence in popularity with the release of her sixth album ‘Brat.’

Unfortunately for the Brisbane gays, the festival has now moved its Queensland location from the Brisbane show grounds, which is set to receive a makeover for the upcoming 2032 Olympics, to the Southport Sharks in the Gold Coast.

However it can now be confirmed that not only will there be buses from central to Southport but a special car lane for Subarus only.

Posting to his Instagram page this afternoon, Cristafulli said there would be a special ‘Hot To Go’ lane come February 7, which or may not include multiple police checks to check for smuggled pingas.

More to come.
