Oi It’s Friday And The Sun’s Out For The First Time In Like 4 Months We Should Get Absolutely Belted, Says Mate

It’s Friday afternoon and everywhere except Melbourne is experiencing the rare treat that is sunny weather with minimal winds.

While an unstable airmass has sparked a few showers and early thunderstorms over northeast Western Australia and the bordering regions of the Northern Territory. A high keeps elsewhere dry, has seen the rest of the country enjoying what feels like ideal spring weather.

It is for this reason that those who are partial to one or ten cold lagers after work are currently being ordered by their mates to do just that.

“Oi” says one of the wiser friends in the group chat, before outlining a fairly comprehensive plan for everyone to meet at a reliable and central licensed establishment with a beer a garden and begin drinking until they are forced to order a counter meal to stave off the hiccups that have been brought on by excitement.

Given the fact that the Eastern seaboard has effectively been raining for the entire winter, and when you consider the fact that beer is really yummy – there’s really no reason to not be listening to this bloke.

Of course, he’s the one mate with the least commitments over the weekend, and is often finding reasons for everyone to link up and sink some piss – but today he has a point.

In fact, he often as a point. But more so today.

While in the depths of winter he argued that it was good weather for a Guinness, and then in the middle of summer he’s quick to point out that it’s good weather for a bright summer ale – what he’s trying to communicate today is that we haven’t had an afternoon of sunshine for like four months. That makes this occasion even more momentous.

So, do what you want with that information. But you know as well as him that he might have the right idea.
