A family group chat became oddly active today when a Betoota mother sent in a photo of the family's 15 year old cat.
Local retiree, Christie Burton decided to take the money shot when she saw the family tabby cat, Pickle, with her head inside a cup drinking some leftover water.
“It was an instant classic,” said Christie while zooming in on the photo on her phone a metre away from her face.
The family group chat which usually consists of the occasional happy birthday message and request for the Netflix code to sign in, popped off with the new photo of Pickle.
“It got 5 thumbs up reacts, that includes a react from me too but I did that by accident I don’t know how to undo that,” Christie explained to our reporter.
Christie’s husband, Peter, was busy watching the 7:30 report when his wife took the photograph.
“I never wanted that fucking cat,” Peter said as he tried turning up the volume to the TV.
“That was my glass of water too, I could have finished that!”
Christie and Peter’s children, Maya, Zach, and Robert, have moved out of the family home but are always happy to see a Pickle update when it gets sent through.
“Sometimes I go through the chats shared photos and just stare at photos of Pickle,” Maya told our reporter.
“She’s way cuter than other cats, like genuinely she is,” she added.
The Burton family looks forward to not messaging the chat until mother, Christie decides to look through the family photo albums again and send poor quality photos of photos.
