Though Melanie Turner (58) isn't usually one to involve herself in political discussions, a morning spent on the Facebook Community Noticeboard might be enough to have changed her tune.
A firm swing voter, The Betoota Grove resident maintains the major political parties in Australia are just as bad as each other.
Any sign of a brimming political discussion at the dinner table is immediately nipped in the bud.
However, a trip to IGA this morning has managed to flip Melanie’s usual passivity into some politically charged rants on Facebook.
The initial post details an incident where a bottle of washing up detergent and can of dry shampoo saw her fork out $31.
“This is just ridiculous! Betoota IGA should be ashamed of themselves!” she wrote.
The rant was met with some equally upset Betoota mothers in the comment section who quickly welcomed the opportunity to dissect the shortcomings of their beloved town.
“Potholes on Crystal Street STILL haven't been fixed!”
“The 889 bus is ALWAYS delayed!”
“I’ve got nowhere to charge my Tesla!”
“I am just SO disappointed with the council about all this!” Melanie replied to each.
Still, she maintains she’d rather just stay out of the whole politics thing.
More to come.
