Local Woman FaceTimes Mother After Minor Inconvenience Again

Local retiree, Wendy Carter had a rather high screen time yesterday after her adult daughter called her three times in one day for seemingly no reason at all. 

Wendy’s daughter, 27 year old Lily Carter was unsure whether a chicken curry she made five days ago was okay to eat when she decided to call her mother just to make sure. 

“I get really weird about chicken and Mum just like always knows so yeah I called her,” Lily told The Advocate. 

“She said it was fine and that I was being ridiculous hahaha.” 

Wendy, who was very busy being retired, heard her facetime jingle while she was in the middle of planning renovations on the house. 

“She thinks that just cause I’m not working anymore that I’ll pick up whenever,” Wendy explained. 

“I’m redoing the whole back half of the house, I’m turning her old bedroom into a section we can Airbnb, I don’t have time to listen to her whine.” 

“Why can’t she just use the ChatGPT like the rest of her lot do,” she questioned. 

But despite Wendy’s jam packed schedule, she still managed to pick up every one of Lily’s calls. 

“Obviously I pick up but it’s only in case there’s an actual emergency, not if she’s just calling to ask how to get a red wine stain out of a Uniqlo white bum bag” Wendy said whilst looking through paint swatches. 

“Sometimes she’ll call me when there’s no problem at all and we’re both just on the call scrolling Facebook in silence,” she added. 

Before our reporter could ask their next question, Wendy received a Facetime from Lily to which she picked up immediately with a smile followed by a “hello poppet!” 

The two women then yapped on about one of Lily’s old high school friends that she’s now discovered is having her 3rd baby. Despite her clear enjoyment in the conversation Wendy hung up, shaking her head. 

“That’s the fourth call today. At least it’s some gossip I can tell my whatsapp group chat about.”
