Local woman, Taryn Langston, had the displeasure of breaking up with a short term situationship last weekend.

After 6 months of kind of dating, Taryn decided to finally hang up her boots and end the relationship.

While 'Robert' was a “nice guy” he just didn’t have the spice she was after. He had a nice smile, a decent job but he didn't invoke the "Emily Brontë vibes” that Taryn has been looking for.

Taryn had planned the perfect break up. She chose a quiet cafe near his house, so he could run back to his house crying, quickly and discretely, if needed.

She made sure the weekend lined up with his footy team playing a walk-over opponent so he was in a guaranteed good mood.

She even packed a pocket size packet of tissues, just in case. But what happened next, would change everything she thought she knew about herself and this man.

After discussing his team's win the night before, a topic that Taryn had no confidence talking about, she decided it was time to get to it.

“I just don’t think we’re right for each other, I’m so sorry.”

Robert took a sip of his mocha, thinking over what he just heard.

“You know what, I completely agree. We had a great time together, but long term, probably not right for each other. Thanks for being honest with me.”  said Robert, as he gave a polite yet nonchalant salute to the woman who he has spent half a year making love to several times a week.

Taryn was taken aback by the maturity displayed in the cafe in Betoota’s Flight Path District.

“I thought he was at least going to ask why, or like fight for me or something,” Taryn told our reporter.

“He didn’t even cry, he like pulled me in and gave me a hug, I never noticed how huge he was.”

Cafe worker, Steve was also surprised at the breakup. “She broke up with him? I thought he broke up with her? He even paid for her shit.”

Days after the incident, Betoota reporter contacted Robert for a comment.

“Yeah she stayed over every night after that. Fun times"
