A local Betoota Heights man has today spoken to The Advocate about the worst Saturday arvo of his life.
Brett Wheeler (42) who hails from our town’s outpost of Auckland, explained that between 4pm and 7pm on Saturday afternoon he was considering uprooting his life and going off grid.
The chirpy kiwi who does something in the city for money, said that things couldn’t have gone much worse.
“Mate, the Wahs bottling it at home was bad enough,” said Brett.
“Against the fucking Panthers on their whole we are making history bullshit.”
“Which is really easy to do when you’ve got 14 blokes on the field,” said the long long suffering Wahs fan.
“And then what happened after that,” he sighed, visibly grimacing.
“My god.”
The event Brett is referring to is the record thumping at home for the All Blacks by the cocky South Africans, who played a B string side and still ran through them.
“There was some absolutely bullshit calls in that too,” said the always humble Kiwi fan.
“So yeah.”
“That was fucked.”
“But hey, things are looking up.”
Our reporter shifted nervously.
“The Bledisloe is coming my friend, and you know it.”
“So things will all be okay again.”
Our reporter nodded nervously.
More to come.
