Often described as the ‘Carlton Cold’ of award ceremonies, the TV Week Logies have this year delved into new categories: Best Handling Of A Sexual Harassment Claim Against One Of Your Stars.

The A Current Affair: Don Burke Special is also nominated for Most outstanding news coverage or public affairs report in this year’s 2018 awards.

However, the question remains why the ABC Four Corners episode didn’t get a mention, considering they broke the story – and are the only reason Channel Nine addressed the alleged sexual misconduct of Don Burke for several decades.

One of the judges from the 2018 Logies has spoken out against criticisms of their decisions.

“We are talking about a multi-Logie winning TV star here people” said TV Week Logies judge.

“Actually… This is doesn’t make sense does it. Why do Channel 9 get to report on something they were obviously aware of thirty years ago?”

“Is this why TV is losing so many advertisers?”

“Like, surely that interview wasn’t ‘outstanding’ – why didn’t Four Corners get a bait? They wouldn’t have done the interview if it wasn’t for them breaking the story”

“In fact, that interview was more of a way for their organisation to avoid any form of accountability for this man’s actions”

“But, yeah, I reckon he’s got this over the 60 Minutes special on the Murray Darling”
