Queensland’s Pro-Lifers are still seething after the state passed legislation yesterday legalising abortion.

The self-appointed guardians of the bodies of the state’s 2.5 million women, took to the streets yesterday to protest the changes to the 19th-century laws, in a heartwarming display of their compassion for human life.

In one of the state’s biggest legislative reforms, the laws passed by Queensland’s parliament mean abortion will be available, at up to 22 weeks’ gestation, and allows for “safe access zones” around fertility and termination clinics.

However, in an odd twist of fate, it can be revealed today that the pro-lifers willing to harass vulnerable young women on the street are nowhere near as interested in saving human life on Nauru.

This comes after medical practitioners across the country warn that the situation on the  Pacific Island of Nauru is at ‘tipping point’ with concerns that children will die in the near future.

We spoke to one of the protesters from yesterday named Christian Shelton about the passing of the law.

“I can’t believe we legalised murder yesterday. I’m still in shock,” he said.

“Honestly, we need to be saving the lives of young kids, unless they are being traumatised out of sight on some island because our country’s politicians don’t wan’t to jeopardise their chances at the next elections,” he said.

“I’m not pro actually living, breathing, thinking brown kids who have been running around on the planet for years,” he laughed.

“Im pro saving the lives of inanimate foetus’ if it means I can dictate what young women can do to their bodies.”

  1. Nailed the “pro life” ideology Betoota, it’s all about controlling women’s bodies…who cares what happen’s to the babies once they’re born.
