Girlfriend Can’t Believe Your Car Doesn’t Have A Name Yet

A young couple from Betoota’s flight path district are on the rocks following a dispute over naming inanimate objects.

The debate arose after Ruby Bephins (26) discovered boyfriend Ollie Meiers (25) had not yet named his new Toyota Hilux.

“Ollie’s had that car for about two months now, like, how could I have not known this sooner?” she said.

“I threw some suggestions out there for him, too, like Hank the Hilux or Harvey the Hilux, but he shut them all down pretty fast,”

“He was all like, ‘babe, it’s just a car’, and that’s what really got me annoyed,”

Her own car, a 2010 Volkswagen Polo, is named Ralph.

“You know, because of Polo Ralph Lauren,” she said, dangling the keys from her fingertip.

“Anyway, how can you not name your car?”

“Like what do you say when you’re telling your friends you can drive somewhere? Surely you wouldn’t just say ‘let’s take my car’, it’s so much cuter to say ‘we can take Ralph!’”

“And seriously, Ollie loves that car so much, so for him to say ‘it’s just a car’ is actually so rich,”

Ollie, however, is maintaining he’s firm on his stance.

“Can you imagine what the boys would say if I rocked up calling my car ‘Harry’? No chance,” he said.

The pair are yet to reach a resolution.

More to come.
