A Betoota Heights resident was forced to make a callous decision between the two apps closest to her heart this morning.
Over the last week, Jasmine Butcher has been the victim of a series of attacks from her iPhones system settings alerting her she has no storage left.
In an attempt to reclaim her storage and therefore personal freedom, Jasmine quickly got to work and began culling her camera roll.
“I was deleting some genuinely cherished pics from my 2018 Contiki tour, like honestly I was ruthless. There were also loads of this guy I had this weird on and off thing with like kind of during Covid so it was also a good excuse to get rid of those, like pretty cathartic tbh,” she said.
However, what Jasmine didn’t realise at the time was that her camera roll detox would serve only as a temporary solution, and before long she’d find herself in the same position again.
“Yeah it came back. So then I deleted Snapchat seeing as though I haven’t used it in like five years, and WhatsApp too, considering the only person who messages me on there is my semi-estranged great aunt that Mum had a falling out with,”
Yet within a week the warning had returned.
“So yeah that’s how I got to where I’m at now, the-” Jasmine paused, turning her head quickly from our reporter as tears welled in her eyes. “Sorry. I just. Well. The two apps taking up the most storage right now are Spotify and Hinge, like if I delete one of those I’ll get 6GB back,”
“But how do you make a decision like that. It’s like, either catch the bus to work and be forced to listen to some random sitting at the back’s speaker the whole way, or never find love. Like that’s basically what Apple is asking me to choose between. And it’s just completely and totally fucked,”
“It hurts,” she added, sniffling.
Although Jasmine says she’s feeling increasingly positive towards a healthy dose of second hand AusRap during her daily commute, she confirmed a new iPhone 17 with 512GB of storage is already on its way.
