Former Rager's Wild Saturday Nights Now Involve A Drink After Pickleball

A former party animal has confirmed how she spends her Saturday nights these days.

Kate Holmes, a retired veteran of the nightlife scene, was reportedly spotted enjoying a glass of sauvignon blanc at the bar adjoining the CBD pickleball courts after a few competitive rounds with her husband and friends.

The 29-year-old’s current weekend routine marks a significant departure from her younger years, when she was known for snowballing after-work Friday drinks into intense two day long benders.

Friends say Holmes is still able to ‘cut loose’, although cutting loose now reportedly involves a second glass of sauv or a cup of coffee in the afternoon.

Best friend since high school Jamie Longbrow says she’s glad Holmes has finally mellowed out.

“She would drag me out of the house every Friday and Saturday night without fail, and god forbid you’d suggest getting home at a reasonable hour," she said.

“Nowadays she reckons she’s had a big one if she gets a side of calamari with her wine.”

Husband David Shrew admits he prefers the current version of his wife, whose Saturday nights are considerably tamer than when they first met.

“To put it this way, we met at about 5am on a Sunday morning at a kebab shop. First meal I ever bought her.”

“Now she starts checking the clock at about 8:30pm to make sure we get our sleep score perfect!” he said with pride.

“But usually a few games of pickleball and a glass of wine or two is enough to send her home happy.”
