A man wearing dark sunnies and holding a plastic bag was seen on the edge of a large family gathering at Betoota foreshore on Sunday around midday.

The man who is now identified as Ryan Willis, is the very hungover grandson of birthday girl, Pam Willis who decided an extended family barbeque the Sunday after Ryan’s best mate’s 30th was a good idea.

Ryan who spent majority of the day sipping from a Powerade in a camping chair struggled to understand why he can’t be hungover in bed like the rest of the world.

“I swear to god every bender I have, which isn’t that many, the next day I’ll always have a family event” Ryan told our reporter, taking another baby sip of the Powerade.

“Why can’t I just uber eats KFC to my bed like a normal guy” he added.

Unfortunately for Ryan, no zinger boxes were seen this Sunday however many of Ryan’s Aunties offered him various slices and fruit salads.

“I couldn’t possibly stomach the caramel slice Aunty Liz offered but I did take a bit of watermelon, that was okay.”

The hardest part of the afternoon was engaging in conversation with family members he hadn’t spoken to in 6 months.

Ryan’s Uncle Sam greeted him with a punch in the gut followed by the question “big night last night aye?” Which Ryan could only reply with a half smile and an almost vomit.

“Uncle Sam was expectedly bad, what was worse was Nanna Pam making me talk to my 12 year old cousin Mia” Ryan told our reporter.

“I think I tried talking to her about Kpop Demon Hunters but it went no where cause I haven’t even seen the movie. We just sat in silence after that while she played on my phone.”

Ryan is looking forward to next weekend for his work’s end of financial year party followed the next morning with a coffee with a high school mate visiting from interstate.
