City Kids On Day One Of Stay At Nans Deeply Concerned For Their Safety Following Lunch

A pair of young siblings in rural Queensland are fearing for their safety following a lunch prepared for them by their maternal grandmother.

Luna and Milo Smith, who reside in Betoota’s flight path district, were dropped off for a week-long stay this morning as their parents headed to the Gold Coast.

Though they begged to go too, Fiona and Dave Smith assured their children Nan’s place wouldn’t be all too bad. She usually has a really good ice cream selection, a heated blanket, and makes Anzac biscuits all year round.

And after being sat straight in front of the telly for a few hours upon arrival, things were actually looking up.

However, at around noon, the experience quickly took a turn for the worse.

Nan beckoned them into the dining room for lunch. On a platter in the centre of the table sat an abominable creation no child should be forced to eat.

“Pigs in blankets for you two! Your mother used to love these when she was a girl,” Nan beamed.

The children were aghast. It seemed to be cold mashed potatoes shoved into slices of devon. They’d never even had devon.

Luna nodded at Milo who excused himself to go to the bathroom as she took a seat.

As the young girl waited, evading a bite for as long as she could, her brother phoned their parents from the bathroom and begged them to come immediately - positive the food was not safe for human consumption.

However, his parents simply told him to toughen up as they sipped Pina Coladas from the pool of the Surfers Paradise accommodation.

At this stage, the siblings have informed their Nan they must’ve come down with a stomach bug and have lost their appetite completely. They are considering calling authorities.

More to come.
