Artificial intelligence is reportedly being used to outsource fundamental human interactions in a South Betoota office, it can be confirmed.
Local sales director, Gerri Collins (62) always assumed her client-facing workforce were A.I proof, but she’s starting to get a funny feeling that every single email she’s received over the last two years has been generated by a computer.
First it was the little things, like impeccable punctuation and Americanised grammar.
She then started to grow suspicious by the strangely in-depth problem solving skills that her staff were showcasing through the use of graphs and spreadsheets.
This sudden rush of uncharacteristically astute acts of professionalism did not result in a boost to their actual workload or performance.
Furthermore, none of her employees were able to recount any of these impressive strategies or statistics in any of her face-to-face meetings with them. Only to have their clunky in-person interactions followed up by dense emails that outlined another long list of impressive, but ultimately useless, facts.
However, it was a last minute request for a long weekend from a 20-year-old sales graduate that finally confirmed suspicions.
“Dear Mrs Gerri Collins — my employer” began the email.
“I am writing to request an extended leave of absence from the 29th of this month to the 29th of this month due to personal matters.
“I am ready to assist in any way possible to ensure a smooth transition before my leave. I have prepared a detailed handover plan and am willing to provide training or support to any team member who will be covering my duties”
The email, which was simply a request to take a Monday off work for unexplained reasons, continued for five full pages. Only to finish with the most insincere sign off that Gerri has received in her entire working life.
“Warmest, Olivia Hendy (seated second from the left on the row of desks directly parallel to yours”
Gerri says she felt sick to her stomach, but was also fully aware that her employee may have unlearnt crucial interpersonal skills due to her reliance on ChatGPT.
“Yeah that’s fine Liv” she said, with words, from her mouth.
