The nation is on the precipice this week of another pandemic as the government mulls placing all birds on lockdown in response to the H5N1 avian influence crisis.

It's a move not without its critics.

Skills were learned during the COVID-19 pandemic that are transferrable to birds, according to Birdsong Church, which mean cancelling this week's annual conference doesn't make sense.

The evangelical organisation, which is best known for their high-production services which replaces the usual, traditional birdsongs of praise with music closer to modern trends and tastes.

It's also a controversial organisation, with some within the church faces both allegations and convicts for various criminal offences ranging from seed fraud to non-consensual pecking.

Nevertheless, Birdsong is lobbying the Albanese Government to hold off any avian lockdown until next week at the earliest. There has been no formal response from the Government but sources have told this masthead that they are weighing up the church's nefarious influence in certain sections of politics with the safety of birds around the country.

Last week, Albanese made the decision not to call for an investigation into the origins of this latest bird flu catastrophe because it's probably going to be either China or India, both of which are critical trading partners so it's not really a battle the nation feels is worth taking on at this time.

More to come.
