An Australian rugby league fan who just want the international game to look like a real thing isn't even hiding the fact that he's going against his country in Sundays semi final against Samoa.
"Can you image in the scenes if Samoa one?"
"Could you imagine a Tonga vs Samoa rematch in the final?"
"Why waste all that on another boring Australian win" said the 30 year old Australian man.
Having spent the last fortnight watching packed stadiums, emotional national anthems and several thousand Polynesian men waving flags from the windows of moving vehicles, the lifelong Kangaroos supporter says his national allegiance has become increasingly difficult to justify.
"I love Australia, obviously. But we've won enough of these things. Nobody is doing burnouts in the streets of Campbelltown because Australia beat the Cook Islands again."
"Imagine what it would do for the sport. An entire week of Samoan and Tongan fans going absolutely mental."
While insisting he still respects the green and gold jersey, the man admits he would struggle to celebrate an Australian victory.
"Yeah, nah, obviously good luck to the Kangaroos and everything."
"But seriously, imagine the scenes."
The man is reportedly among a growing number of Australian rugby league supporters who believe the international game would benefit from Australia not winning absolutely everything.
“I just want to feel like an under dog for once”
