There’s no rest for the Prime Minister and his team tonight as Scott Morrison burns the midnight oil to get the full day of racing in from the other side of the globe.

Reporters suggest Morrison is tuned into Flemington from the Elephant & Pogostick Inn, which is located in Glasgow’s cosmopolitan inner-south.

However, when the sun comes up in Glasgow tomorrow and the UN Brunch 4 Climate resumes, Mr Morrison won’t be there.

“The Prime Minister will be entertaining guests tonight at a pub once owned by his cleaner’s father’s family and tomorrow will be taking a day of flex leave, which is what public servants get as a perk. It’s essentially overtime taken as paid leave, which the Prime Minister has been doing a lot of recently. Over time, that is,” said the PMO in a statement earlier today.

“Tomorrow, all queries and questions should be directed to Barnaby Joyce’s Office, he is the Deputy Prime Minister. The Prime Minister will be gambling responsibly. He has a budget of $50 and will be asking some hand-picked policy advisor in his team he found at Hillsong with a head on him like a sucked mango seed to put the bets on for him,”

“For those who don’t hate Australia and spit on the ANZACs by not enjoying a day of horse racing, the Prime Minister has placed his bet on #14 Master Of Wine because it reminds him of his close personal friend Barnaby Joyce.”

More to come.
