The NSW State Government has suffered yet another indignity this morning after the body of disgraced Cardinal George Pell was accidentally taken to St Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney instead of a landfill site on the edge of town.

The mix-up has left many mourners angry and confused after they lined the streets of the Erskine Park in Sydney’s West to pay their respects before the convicted pedophile protector was laid to rest under a pile of fermented nappies and kitchen scraps.

Instead, the cunt’s body was taken to St Mary’s Cathedral where it was paraded around in front of politicians and high-ranking public servants where they got the opportunity to pay their final respects to someone they loved.

On behalf of the NSW Government, a spokesman for the department responsible for the mix up told mourners that they were free to come and stand out the front of the cathedral later today if that makes them feel any better.

“We are investigating, internally, what went wrong here,” they said.

“The Cardinal was never meant to be buried under landfill, we don’t know how that got out. It’s fake news. The Cardinal is being laid to rest in St Mary’s Cathedral,”

“Under NSW law, it’s actually illegal to dispose of a body in landfill.”

The Advocate reached out to the Catholic Church for comment but have yet to receive a reply.

More to come.
