A 37 year old man continues to fight the urge to fork out the cash for a Switch 2 to relive his childhood, and waste a bunch of time he doesn't really have to waste.
The situation has reportedly deteriorated following the release of Zelda Ocarina of Time on the console, a game he already completed several times before getting his first job.
“I don't need it,” said the Sydney man, who has spent the last three evenings watching reviews of a product he insists he has no intention of purchasing.
“I've got work, bills, stuff around the house. I can't just disappear into Hyrule for three weeks.”
"I mean, that would just be crazy."
Despite this, the man has begun quietly calculating how much use he would need to get out of the console to classify the purchase as worth the money yet under the threshold of wasting too much time.
“If you divide it by the number of hours you'd play, it's actually pretty cheap entertainment.”
"It's better than doomscrolling."
Friends say he has also started describing gaming as an important way to unwind and a genuine art form, despite previously claiming he had grown out of it.
“It's not like I'm going to sit there for eight hours a day," he explained, before recalling a childhood summer spent doing precisely that.
