As the age old saying goes, one giant tech platform's loss is another giant tech platform's gain.

The timeless phrase has come to the forefront once again this week, after the largest purveyor of online pornography decided to say fuck you to the government and shut down its Aussie operations.

Pornhub did so yesterday, displaying only very weird porn adjacent content that is not porn, and requiring users to sign up to the platform.

The incredibly data leaky move has sent users around the country spiralling, as the muscles in their forearms start withering away.

However, the seismic shift in the digital landscape has had a significant uplift for another large online video platform.

YouTube has reportedly seen a huge spike in numbers over the last 24 hours, specifically on videos of 200os techno videos.

"European DJ's are copping a hammering right now," laughed a spokesperson for the platform a short time ago.

"A Sunday shut down across the nation has seen the likes of Eric Prydz, Fedde Le Grand and Benny Benassi are doing some serious numbers."

"And I mean, I think it's fair to say why."

"That aerobics class from the mid-2000s."

"Goodness gracious me."

"That's probably all I should say actually."
