Young women around the nation are taking to public transport to stare out bus or train windows to perfectly experience Olivia Rodrigo’s new album.
The American singer/songwriter released her 3rd album last week titled “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.”
While the album features her usual pop rock “jumping up and down screaming” sound, she also features many songs to satisfy the Aussie woman’s sad girl winter.
22-year-old, Jasmine Redford who usually drives to her part time Supre job, has this week decided to catch the bus to press her head against the window and cry.
“It’s the best way to listen” she said.
“You can properly stare and you feel extra sad cause you’re on a bus and that’s the best place to sit with such melancholy.”
Other commuters whose only choice is to catch the bus to work have noticed the many young women hopping on the bus this week.
But it's not just the girlies. Finance consultant, Greg Saunders (58), says he is also really up to date with the new Olivia Rodrigo album.
“I can hear the songs through their AirPods, it’s not playing as quiet as they think” Greg said as he held on to the bus handle.
“I’m just trying to read the ABC news and all I can hear is some boy-crazy American lamenting about Versailles.”
"Not bad though. I swear I heard Robert Smith's vocals on track number ten?"
