A woman with a penchant for whimsy has come to the conclusion that she might not be rich enough to romanticise her life, especially when it comes to kickstarting a family tradition.
As an avid reader, Amelie Fitzgibbon, 34, says she’s always loved the idea of having a family heirloom to pass down (preferably a gloomy-looking ring or a pendant necklace) that hints at heartbreak and scandal.
But seeing as Amelie comes from a simple working class family and not the Eton educated, manor living types she reads about in her books, she unfortunately doesn’t have any gorgeous jewels to pass on to her daughter, nor a stunning ring for her son to propose with.
In fact, the only jewellery in Amelie’s possession is a stack of necklaces, rings, and earrings she’s bought from Lovisa – half of which have already turned green.
Speaking to our reporter, Amelie admits she’s probably not rich enough to achieve any of her romantic goals, which include living in a haunted manor with a mysterious past, owning at least two geese, and saying things like “you forget yourself.”
“I mean, these earrings are pretty nice, I could pass these down?,” queries Amelie, brandishing a pair of bedazzled crucifix earrings.
“Maybe I can pretend I was gifted these by a prince.”
“No one has to know.”
More to come.
