In news that should surprise none of the single gals out there, it is being reported that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has once again been stood up by a commitmentphobe.

Only this time, it was in the middle of New York City, after months of nervous planning with his close friends.

This is heartbreaking for both Albanese and his inner-circle, as they spent hours waiting at the door of a Lower Eastside venue, before it was confirmed that ‘Big’ (President Trump) was having second thoughts, and would not be making the long-awaited event.

It has been increasingly difficult for the Australian PM to tie the US President down, even after Trump expressed an eagerness to make their diplomatic matrimony official.

However, with increasingly mixed messages, it all fell apart today in the streets of NYC.

In the heat of the moment, Albanese is reported to have thrown his carefully curated flowers at the President’s official limousine, while his female aides held him back with tears in their eyes.

Albanese is in the US this week for the United Nations General Assembly, but had hoped that New York would also play host to a fairytale he had dreamed about since he was a little Labor MP.
