The West Asian country of Iraq has today dropped a bombshell on the international community.
Iraq’s government has announced an imminent plan to mount a ground, aerial and naval invasion of the North American country the United States of America.
A government spokesperson explained that the military action is ‘peace-keeping in nature’ and designed to protect the sanctity of democracy.
“If we allow totalitarian regimes to flourish in countries like America, then we threatened the stability of the entire region and the global community,” said the spokesperson.
“This is about freedom, democracy and humanity.”
The United States has widely condemned the pending invasion, claiming that the current regime is democratically elected and its sovereignty should be respected.
The United Nations has also hit out at the move from Iraq, passing a resolution condemning the looming invasion of a sovereign nation as illegal.
Iraq however is set to ignore the United Nations, because it doesn’t agree with the resolution, and start bombing the shit out of the country within in the next 48 hours.
When asked whether the invasion had anything to do with securing Iraq’s commercial interests, the spokesperson played a straight bat.
“The Texan Oil Fields are strategically important asset for global trade and security, we can’t risk them falling into the hands of a regime that refuses to acknowledge the rule of international law,” said the spokesperson.
More to come.
