World Cup Analysts Praising Stadium Atmosphere Clearly Never Been To Suncorp On A Friday Night

A Brisbane rugby league tragic has today dismissed the alleged ‘expert analysis’ that the atmosphere inside a FIFA World Cup stadium is “something you’ll never hear anywhere else”.

42-year-old Darren Sullivan recalls countless Maroons and Broncos games where the noise levels of 50,000 Queenslanders somehow managed to surpass 80,000 soccer fans armed with drums and horns.

Watching the 10am fixture from the lounge with a XXXX Gold in hand, the Broncos diehard was quick to scoff at the suggestion that the scenes in the grounds are unmatched, a claim Sullivan insisted could only be made by someone who has never attended a game of rugby league at Suncorp Stadium on a Friday night.

“Yeah look, I get they pack it out, and the supporters have gotta be mad keen if you’ve flown all that way and paid a motza for those tickets,” Sullivan commented.

“But it’s fairly obvious these blokes in the commentary box have never experienced genuine atmosphere.”

“When the bloke next to ya is both as revved-up and maggot as you are.”

Sullivan’s wife, Sharon, agrees with her husband.

“I still remember Slater’s chip and chase in ‘04 to clinch game two against the roaches,” she admitted to The Advocate while retrieving her husband’s third XXXX Gold of the morning from the fridge.

“The noise after was that fucking deafening, my ears were ringing the next day.”

“I’d like to see these soccer pansies replicate that one.”

More to come.
