A local woman is beginning to suspect her phone is out to get her, as she once again took several attempts to tap onto the bus as a long line of people waited behind her.
Hopping on the 343 bus this morning to commute from the ponds to the French Quarter, Isabelle Scholefield, 28, soon found herself in the one situation all introverts dread second to answering a random phone call - taking multiple attempts to use her apple pay to pay for something.
Speaking to The Advocate, Isabelle says this only ever seems to happen to her when there’s a huge line behind her, leading to believe her phone somehow knows she’s in a stressful situation.
“It never happens to me when it’s off peak” says Isabelle, “I swear it does it on purpose.”
Our reporter asks if the cards she’d got wedged in the back of her phone might have something to do with it.
Isabelle thinks not.
“No, it just knows. It picks up on my stress.”
More to come.
