A local Betoota woman’s latest trendy shoe purchase has turned out to be quite the value for money, not only being a stylish everyday shoe but a perfect reef shoe for scuba diving.

28 year old Gill Anderson bought the 5 toed, close-fitting shoes online immediately after seeing Australian influencer, Tammy Hembrow wear the exact same pair on Instagram.

“The last time I saw shoes like that was back in my 2023 euro summer on the pebble beaches of the South of France” Gill told the Advocate.

“Tammy just rocked them, I mean it was from a bit of a distance, but from the photos they looked really cool.”

When the shoes first arrived, Gill was unsure at first at the unique design.

“Yeah look, the feeling of material wrapped around each individual toe took a minute to get used to.”

“Claustrophic even” she added.

Miranda’s new shoes were the talk of Sunday brunch at a coastal cafe, where all of her girlfriends were interested to see where her shoes were purchased. Miranda’s best friend, Cara Undon couldn’t help but guess where such a shoe would be sold.

“I asked her if she got them from BCF but she told me she didn’t know what that was so I shut up after that” Cara told our reporter.

“Yeah look they are fucking weird but that’s what I  thought about jellies in 2012 and look what happened.”

Miranda’s friends became a little confused when Miranda left the brunch, chucked a snorkel on and walked straight into the ocean in her amphibious toe shoes.

“It was a little weird but I guess those shoes are a time saver” Cara said.

Miranda had a delightful afternoon snorkelling around a local shipwreck in her new shoes and can’t wait to wear them on both land and water.
