A local Sydney woman that has rooftop access has once again been reminded just how popular she gets this time of year.
The reminder came earlier today when Hannah Clarke (29) received a text reading: "Hey girl! Long time no see! Was wondering if you were having people on you're roof for the fireworks for NYE? Would luv to see you!!"
Hannah says the text came from someone she's only seen once this year, by accident in a woolies.
The rogue text was not the only indication of Hannah's new found popularity in her city.
Throughout the afternoon, she also received a handful of Instagram replies to stories she posted earlier that day, several vague “what are you up to NYE?” messages, and one ambitious request asking if she’d be open to hosting “a chill thing, nothing big.”
Friends confirm the annual cycle begins in mid-December, when Hannah’s social value quietly shifts from moderate to high.
“She’ll go months without hearing from some people” said one close friend.
“Then suddenly everyone remembers her name, her address, and the exact height of her apartment building.”
Hannah says she briefly considered ignoring the messages before remembering she is a cronic people pleaser.
Plans for the rooftop are still undecided, though sources say Hannah is already mentally exhausted by the idea of inviting people that don't give a shit about her onto her apartment rooftop.
