Woke Friend Discusses Whether The 100 Year Age Gap In Twilight Is Problematic

Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid have this week sparked marriage rumours after the pair were spotted in Paris sporting matching gold wedding band-style rings. 

Though Gigi was 28 when the couple were first linked, their 20 year age gap has led to much internet scrutiny and discourse over how far a pair can push it before their age disparity turns problematic. 

A group of friends in Betoota’s French Quarter say anything more than 5 years probably isn’t chill, given a few exceptions. 

Daisy-Mae Barlow (25) is of the opinion Leonardo Dicaprio will never qualify for one of these exemptions. But if you’re the fictional vampire Edward Cullen then it’s probably okay. 

“Did you see Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper got married?” the young woman said to her mates, Willow Pawppet (23) and Milo Smith-King (26). 

“Yeah, like soo weird, that’s like not right,” said Milo. 

The others nodded in agreement.  

“Wait guys, what do we think about Twilight age gap?” Daisy said, broaching the topic gently.

“Like is that chill? Or nah?”

The others took a moment to consider. 

“Idkkkk, Dais. It’s kind of fucked. He’s like, lowkey 100,” said Willow. 

“Yeah, like idk, it’s givinggg…” Milo pursed his lips. 

“Wait no but like even though he’s 104 technically speaking I’m pretty sure he’s like physically and mentally frozen at 17,” said Daisy-Mae, rushing to defend her 11 year old self's special interest. 

“Oh ok. Yeah maybe it’s okay then, idk,” said Willow. 

“Yeah I guess that’s fine, still pretty weird though. Like idk, he’s slimy for thatttt,” added Milo. 

Satisfied this was probably the best she’d get, Daisy-Mae nodded and muttered a quick ‘for sure, for sure’ before moving the conversation on.
