“What! How Have You Never Seen [Random Action Movie Where Men Engage In High Speed Pursuits And Blow Stuff Up For 2.5 Hours Straight]?!” Says Boyfriend

A man who has never seen Mean Girls has taken a moment to outline what constitutes a cult classic. 

Jordy Egan (32) and girlfriend Mia Smith-Dawson (28) had been spending a quiet Sunday night in when they decided to flick on a movie.  

After deciding they both had limited brain capacity, the young couple agreed they both felt like watching something they’d already seen before. 

Jordy floated a few options before suggesting the 2007 action movie ‘Live Free or Die Hard’. 

“Oh I’ve never seen that,” said Mia. 

“Wait what?” he said. 

“Surely you’re joking.”

“Bro what?!”

“You’ve never seen that? How have you never seen that?!?”

“Nahhh. That’s fucked. Wait. That’s a joke, right?”

Mia shook her head. 

“That’s maddddd! It’s thatttt good. It’s like a cult classic. There’s 5 of them, but they all stand alone, this is the fourth one, it’s probably the best IMO,” he said. "Surely we watch this."

“Alright, maybe. What’s it about?” she asked. 

“It’s about this guy who's a detective but he’s just an all round fucken ledg, anyway, he basically teams up with this nerdy bloke coz this other bloke is trying to hack into a bunch of shit and destroy America. And they blow a bunch of shit up. It’s sick.”

Mia reached out and tactfully pried the remote from Jordy's hands before navigating from the Action section to the Comedy. 

“Have you ever seen Pitch Perfect 2?” she said. 

“Um. Maybe. Is that the one with Das Sound Machine?” Jordy answered. 

“Yeah the one with the awesome camp montage. I’m putting that on.”

Jordy sighed deeply before agreeing.
