The long suffering fans of the Wests Tigers NRL franchise are this week revelling in a golden era.

Nearly 2 decades after winning their first and only premiership, fans of the unhappiest merger club are now hoping to celebrate another famous victory.

Tigers fans are eagerly awaiting the greatest game on the rugby league calendar – the Spoon Bowl.

Fresh off the back of a couple of spoons, the high flying club is now praying of avoiding another one.

They can do that by winning the fabled Spoon Bowl this Friday night against the Eels, who are likewise hoping to win the Friday night blockbuster.

Fans are so eager to see the victory that Campbelltown Stadium has sold out, with everything on the line.

“This is as good as gets,” said one long suffering Tigers fan Alex Millers.

“Finally, everything goes on the line for my Tigies.”

“Watching us lift 16th spot on the ladder over the Blue and Gold will be like a dream come true.”

“And we are signing Big Red, Jacky Bird and Royce Hunt to join Luai and Turuva.”

“We are going to be the first team in history to win the Spoon bowl and Grand Final in consecutive years.”

More to come.
