The nation's opposition is this week drumming up noise around the lack of drums of petrol coming into the country.
With Australia 40 days away from running out of fuel, similarly to the vast majority of other non food products or resources in this country, the drums of a 'fuel crisis' are beating.
A couple of towns running out of fuel for a few hours because people panic bought fuel like they could wipe their arse with it ahead of a global pandemic, has sent the media into a frenzy.
Sensing a chance to grab some headlines and blame their political opponents for an issue, the Liberals and Nationals are slamming the government for inaction and offering up some genius solutions.
The big solution has been the common sense one of opening some more oil refineries, to stick it to the woke lefties and get our economy back on track.
Similar to the genius one page nuclear plan offered up in last years election, none of the Matt Canavan's, Angus Taylor's or Jane Hume's have managed to explained how spending a few years getting oil refineries back open will fix the current price gouging that is currently occurring by giant international countries and the petro states.
They've also yet to clarify who the fuck's gonna pay for it, after the large very anti-woke companies decided it wasn't worth their time or money getting Aussies to refine the oil, when it could be done overseas for way cheaper.
The nation's current Opposition Leader Angus Taylor has also yet to touch on the fact he was the Energy Minister when the last two oil refineries shut down, leaving Australia with just two left standing and the need to import 90% of our petrol.
He's also not going near the fact that of the 8 refineries we had at the start of the decade, 5 of the 6 that have shut down because they weren't commercially viable, were shut down under a Coalition government's watch.
It's unknown when an actual solution to the crisis and the follow on gas, energy and cost of living crises will be presented - from any fucking side of politics.
More to come.
